Government move calling it dangerous trend with far reaching consequences. “This is a dangerous trend as the government has started pushing to withdraw case against accused involved in creating divide on religious lines and committing lynching. The incident was not an ordinary occurrence as right wing mob killed a Muslim and emboldened a small section of fringe group who believed in committing lynching against Muslims. But, in a State such as the Uttar Pradesh where Chief Minister withdraws cases against himself, such a step was coming. We condemn such action,” said Shahnawaz Alam, National Secretary, Congress.
