Cleveland Browns quarterback great Bernie Kosar issued an urgent plea for prayers after his scheduled liver transplant was called off because the donor organ was infected.

Meanwhile Kosar, who led the Browns to three AFC championship games, said he had “two aggressive procedures” on Tuesday to stop internal bleeding and was awaiting a third on Wednesday.

“Man, all the duress right now,” Kosar said in a video from his hospital bed in Cleveland on Wednesday. “I could really use your love, support and actual prayers today.”

“My body is failing,” he added in an interview with Fox 8 on Thursday.

Kosar, a recovering alcoholic, announced last year that he had cirrhosis of the liver and Parkinson’s disease.
