Akon was arrested in Georgia over the weekend after police issued a warrant on a vehicle registered to the singer.

The Grammy-nominated hip-hop star (real name: Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam) was approached by authorities on Friday, Nov. 7, after officers from the Chamblee Police Department received a wanted person alert for a white Tesla Cybertruck from the Roswell Police Department, according to an incident report obtained by USA TODAY on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

The Roswell Police Department noted the vehicle's owner was flagged due to a suspended license, according to a separate investigation report obtained by USA TODAY.

Officers found the vehicle parked at Tint World, an automotive styling business, per the Chamblee report. Upon arrival, police saw a man who matched the registered owner's description.
