Nov. 12 (UPI) -- The House is expected to vote Wednesday evening on legislation passed this week by the Senate to reopen the government, 43 days after the start of the shutdown, House Republican leader Steve Scalise said.

USA Today reported the lower chamber was expected to convene at noon, start debate around 4 p.m. EST and hold its first vote at 5:10 p.m. Final voting should be done by 7:15 p.m., at which point the legislation, if it passes, will be sent to President Donald Trump's desk for a signature.

Trump indicated he would sign the legislation.

"I'll abide by the deal," he said Monday. "The deal is very good."
