Following the blast in New Delhi on Monday evening, the city police have sounded high alert. The police have started extensive checks across various locations and tightened the security as part of precautionary efforts to ensure public safety.
Moreover, with the CII Partnership Summit scheduled for November 14 and 15, the coastal city is being brought under complete security blanket. Security was beefed up at the AU Engineering College Grounds, where the main event is being organised. Dog squads, bomb disposal squad have been conducting checks thoroughly.
A number of police teams were deployed under all police station limits to conduct checks at public areas, major junctions, bus stations, railway stations etc., on Monday night and the inspections continued on Tuesday. Especially at the bus stations and the railway stations, security arrangements were tightened by using metal detectors, bomb disposal units, and dog squads. The police teams thoroughly inspected passengers’ luggage and suspicious items to ensure safety
Meanwhile, vehicle inspections have been stepped up at city entry, exit points and major intersections. Police stopped suspicious vehicles, verified occupant's identities, and checked for any illegal or suspicious materials.
