Shattered glass, dismembered body parts, blood stains and parts of vehicles lined the road leading to the Red Fort, where a high-intensity blast in a slow-moving car killed nine and injured 20 on Monday (November 10, 2025).
At 6:55 p.m., the Delhi Fire Services received a call alerting them about the blast that happened in a car in front of the Red Fort. According to senior officials, the blast triggered a fire in several vehicles around it.

Speaking to The Hindu, Dharmender, an eyewitness and a resident of Greater Noida, said that he was on the opposite footpath shopping when he heard a loud sound and saw vehicles catch fire. “There was a lot of traffic, and the slow-moving vehicle in which the blast happened went up in flames, which led to several commercial taxis around it catching fire,” he said.
Mr. Dharmender said at that moment there were only two police officers stationed at the Red Fort outpost who rushed to rescue people. “We dragged out almost seven taxi drivers and saw that the vehicle where the blast happened had a Haryana number plate,” he said. While the two policemen battled thick smoke to pull out those impacted by the blast, fire department offers reached 10 minutes later. Mr. Dharmender added that while the rescue operation was on, two officers checked the vehicle.
