Nov. 10 (UPI) -- The New York Giants fired coach Brian Daboll after a four-game losing streak and 2-8 start to their 2025 campaign, a league source told UPI on Monday.
Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka is expected to fill in as the Giants' interim coach. The Giants, who lost 24-20 to the Chicago Bears on Sunday in Chicago, will host the Green Bay Packers in Week 11.
Daboll led the Giants to a 9-7-1 record in his first season, resulting in Coach of the Year honors and a playoff berth.
The Giants went 6-11 in 2023 and 3-14 in 2024. The 2025 Giants lost their first three games. They won two of their next three to improve to 2-4. Poor play and a rash of injuries resulted in their current four-game skid.
The Giants lost top rusher Cam Skattebo, a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, to a dislocated ankle in Week 8. Quarterback Jaxson Dart, the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, missed the entire fourth quarter of Sunday's game while being evaluated for a concussion.
