Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Firefighters in Virginia came to the rescue of an approximately 900-pound horse that fell into a resident's swimming pool.
The Prince William County Fire & Rescue System said on social media that crews were dispatched to a home on Burwell Road in Nokesville last week on a report of a horse trapped in a pool.
"Apparently, sometime during the night, the homeowner's horse had wandered into the pool area, stepped onto the canvas-covered pool, and fallen in," the post said.
The owner found the horse standing in about 4 feet of water in the shallow end of the pool.
A large animal rescue team from the Little Fork Volunteer Fire and Rescue was called for assistance.
