Nov. 9 (UPI) -- The Senate may be close to an agreement to fund the government and end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.
Axios and The Hill reported on Sunday afternoon that 10 Senate Democrats are expected to vote in favor of the House bill to fund and reopen the government through January.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., who said that the Senate would remain in session until the impasse is resolved, said earlier Sunday that he expected a 15th vote on the bill later tonight.
The vote would include a "minibus" package of legislation, which, if it is approved by the Senate, would then be amended to include a full year of government funding.
