The National Zoological Park in the Capital saw more than 23,000 visitors over the weekend after it reopened its gates to the public on November 8 following a two-month long closure due to a bird flu scare.

The zoo saw 8,065 visitors, including 954 students from 12 schools, on Saturday. The footfall rose significantly on Sunday with 15,292 visitors, among whom were 262 students from five schools.
