RIYADH: The South Korean Embassy in Riyadh was alive with lights and sounds during an outdoor reception on Thursday night marking the country’s 95th National Day.

Moon Byung-Jun, the acting ambassador, said in his speech: “Tonight we are celebrating the journey of friendship and trust that Korea and Saudi Arabia have walked together.”

Among those in attendance was Dr. Faisal Al-Sudairi, undersecretary of Riyadh region, who joined as the guest of honor.

Moon reflected on the two nations’ cooperation since diplomatic ties were established in 1962, with the embassy opening in 1973.

He recalled how Korean engineers helped shape Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure during the 1970s and 1980s, and how the relationship has since expanded.
