“Late Night” host Seth Meyers on Thursday knocked Donald Trump for not being a “numbers guy” as he highlighted the president’s essentially mathematically impossible claim about reducing drug prices.Meyers — after airing clips of the conservative “panic” following Democrats’ big election night — said he was certain Trump wouldn’t “look inside the numbers,” as Fox News’ Bret Baier suggested Republicans should do.He tossed to a supercut of Trump who, in recent months, has claimed that he could bring drug prices down anywhere from 100% to 1,500%.“Nobody’s ever seen anything like this,” said Trump after regurgitating the claim in the Oval Office on Thursday.Meyers took on Trump over his “very exciting” calculations.“If you reduce the price by 100%, that means it’s free. Why do I have to keep explaining this? I feel like an exhausted high school math teacher,” Meyers said.Meyers argued that aside from anti-Trump backlash fueling Democrats’ wins, voters were also furious about grocery prices going up.Later in the segment, Meyers declared that Trump — who regularly claims grocery prices have gone down on his watch — finds himself in a similar position to his predecessor, Joe Biden: “insisting the economy is actually awesome even though no one agrees with him.”“Oh, my God, he’s going full Biden. Soon he’s going to start saying things like ‘Listen up, Jack’ and ‘I’m not kidding around’ or wandering aimlessly away from world leaders while everyone around him just watches and tries to figure out where he’s going and — Oh, my God, look at him!” Meyers said of Trump.Check out more of Meyers’ Thursday monologue on “Late Night.”Close
