The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday called total B.S. on one of Donald Trump’s reasons for Republican defeats in key elections this week.

The president partly blamed “the fact that he wasn’t on the ballot,” wrote the newspaper’s conservative editorial board, which added that: “If he really believes this, then the GOP is heading for bigger problems in 2026.”

Trump “was on the ballot ― not literally, but nonetheless as the main motivating force behind a dominating Democratic turnout,” said the Journal.

Trump’s approval rating on the economy is “under water,” despite his 2024 election promise to boost it, added the newspaper, which has in recent months become a persistent thorn in the president’s side over his economic policies.
