Heartbreak is hard, but Dylan Dreyer is a tough cookie.

The "Today" show host and guest weather anchor, who announced her separation from husband Brian Fichera in July, opened up about the split during an appearance on the NBC daytime talk show on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

"Everybody has their reasons for what leads to a separation or divorce," Dreyer, 44, told cohost Jenna Bush Hager. "That's another story with a lot of wine, and that's a whole different thing, but either way we've gotten to this place."

In an emotional July 18 Instagram post, Dreyer, who had been married to Fichera since 2012, revealed that the couple had broken up a few months prior. "We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends," she wrote at the time.

"There's something freeing for Brian and I where — whatever reasons, whatever broke in a marriage — you could either fix it if you can and ideally you would and you try to fix things," Dreyer said on the "Today" show. "Or you accept that it's broken and you take this new step forward."
