President Donald Trump’s White House has drawn backlash for launching a parody MySpace-style website that mocks Democrats and disingenuously casts them as the sole cause of the government shutdown, now the longest in U.S. history.

The satirical page, called “MySafeSpace,” went live this week hosted on the official White House website. Visit the site here.

“I can’t believe this is real,” New York public defender Eliza Orlins said in a viral video highlighting the site.

“This is absolutely batshit insane,” she added, noting “it’s hosted on the actual .gov website that your government tax dollars are paying for during this shutdown.”

The spoof mimics the early 2000s social media platform and features a fake profile for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), who on it describes Democrats as people who “love DEI, transgender for everyone, and handing out taxpayer benefits to illegal immigrants.”
