The Virginia governor’s race is set to be historic, with either Democrat Abigail Spanberger or Republican Winsome Earle-Sears becoming the first female to take the job.
Spanberger, a former member of Congress, campaigned with former President Barack Obama in the final days of the campaign, while Earle-Sears, the state’s current lieutenant governor, has tried to align herself with MAGA ideals. President Donald Trump has not offered up an eager endorsement for Earle-Sears, simply stating that the “Republican candidate” should win.
