A federal judge ruled Friday the Trump administration cannot stop food stamp benefits despite the ongoing government shutdown, according to multiple outlets, making his ruling a day before the benefits are slated to expire.
Rhode Island District Judge John McConnell blocked the suspension of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which is used by about 42 million Americans.
