Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Thousands of private sectors jobs were added per week to the U.S. economy over the last four weeks, according to ADP.
ADP said Tuesday an average of 14,250 private sector jobs were created over the past month after a drop in the last several weeks in the period ending Oct. 11. It added ADP will release weekly a four-week average change in employment numbers but with a two-week lag every Tuesday as the shutdown lingers in the Republican-controlled federal government.
"ADP's near real-time employment data, released weekly, will now provide an even clearer picture of the labor market at this critical time for the economy," stated Dr. Nela Richardson, ADP's chief economist.
Earlier this month, ADP's report revealed private company payrolls dropped by a seasonally adjusted 32,000 jobs in September, in its largest decline since March 2023.
Richardson said at the time the drop in job numbers were an indication of a weakening labor market.
