Police have arrested a medical representative of Sresan Pharma, manufacturer of ‘contaminated' cough syrup Coldrif syrup which is suspected to have caused the deaths of 24 children in Madhya Pradesh, an official said here on Tuesday (October 28, 2025).
Satish Verma, who worked for the Tamil Nadu-based company, was arrested from Chhindwara on the intervening night of Sunday (October 26, 2025) and Monday (October 27, 2025), said Parasia Sub Divisional Officer of Police Jitendra Kumar Jaat.

Following the deaths, the Tamil Nadu government had revoked the manufacturing licence of the company.
The police have so far arrested six persons in the case, including Sresan Pharma owner G. Ranganathan, and Chhindwara-based Dr. Praveen Soni who allegedly prescribed the syrup to children.
