A couple years back, I invested in a pair orthotic house slippers to help alleviate the early pangs of foot pain that were no doubt being caused by my lack of supportive footwear. The difference these shoes made in just about every facet of my day to day made their $90 price tag worth it. But, after stumbling on this pair of open-toed orthopedic slippers retailing for under $30 on Amazon, I sincerely wish I had done a little a more research before shelling out nearly a Benjamin. Before you repeat my same mistake, let me share what I’ve learned so far about the non-slip Gritheim orthotic slippers, a house shoe that reviewers are claiming have significantly reduced plantar fascitis foot pain and have done so even better than the expensive shoes and inserts they’ve purchased in the past. Covered in a soft micro terry fleece, the Gritheims have a memory foam foot bed that helps abosrb shock and redistribute pressure along the sole, while an orthotic design helps support and keep the arch lifted. They are also designed with a deep heel cup, a feature that’s meant to keep the heel secure, thus maintaing proper foot allignment and stability. Gritheim slipper owners say they also appreciate the fully adjustable uppers, which are secured by Velcro and keep the foot firmly in place, while also being mindful of foot conditions like bunions, hammer toes or foot swelling. If you’ve been anywhere on the orthopedic slipper market in the last five years, you would probably notice that these house shoes bear a striking resemblance to the $90 Relax slippers by Vionic, a footwear brand known well for its orthotic designs. According to some Amazon reviewers, the Gritheims resemble their pricier competitors in more than just looks, but also in function. “When I saw these, they looked exactly like the Vionic ones but at half the price so I took a chance. And I’m so glad I did,” one reviewer wrote. “These fit me EXACTLY like the Vionic ones, look the same as Vionic, and have the exact same arch support as Vionic.”While others in the review section may disagree with this statement, it’s still worth the considering and also possibly worth the extra $60 you would save by opting for the Gritheims, which are available in 10 colors and women’s sizes 6-11.See what else other Gritheim slipper owners have to say below or purchase a pair from Amazon.Promising Amazon reviews:“Love these!!! So cute and fuzzy and helps my feet feel better! I was having issues with not supporting my high arches I guess. I bought these to wear at home and switched to arch support sandals for out of the house and no more problems! My feet are so much happier, as is the rest of me.And I’ve had them for months now. They are still holding up beautifully. So comfy. I’m gonna order more when I next need them.” — Jessica Shipley“The comfiest slippers I’ve ever owned! This is my second pair! I absolutely love these slippers! From the moment I slipped them on, I could feel the difference. The orthotic arch support is amazing—perfect for my feet, especially with plantar fasciitis. They’ve made walking around the house so much more comfortable, and I’ve noticed a big difference in how my feet feel by the end of the day.The fuzzy lining is super soft and cozy, and I really appreciate the adjustable strap, which gives a snug, custom fit. They’re extremely comfortable, stylish, and functional—basically everything I was looking for in a house slipper. ” — Mimi“Plantar fasciitis foot pain practically gone! These are seriously a Godsend. I have terrible plantar fasciitis and waking up in the middle of the night having to walk to the bathroom can be excruciating for my feet. I literally hobble like my grandmother used to at 82, and I’m only 40. I bought a pair of expensive orthopedic shoes and inserts to wear and it helps while I’m at work but I was still having the pain at home once I took my shoes off. It hit me that part of my problem may be the lack of good padding in the carpeted rooms and the laminate in the others. I decided to try to find a supportive bedroom slipper to wear around the house. These have been a life saver!! I keep them by my bed at night and I wear them everywhere I go in the house. When I leave the house, I leave them by the front door as I switch into my shoes. When I get home, I change back into these. They are so comfortable and have SIGNIFICANTLY reduced my foot pain. I think they’ve possibly done more to help than the expensive shoes/inserts I bought! They’re stiff enough to hold their shape but are still so extremely comfortable.” — Christina S (This review has been edited for length. Read the full review.)“The best purchase!! The most comfortable slippers I have ever owned. I love that the strap is adjustable because most slippers are not and they stretch out and then they are useless. I have plantar fasciitis and I wear these around the house all day and have no pain at all. I’ve actually gone out in public with them on because I forgot I had them on Because they are that comfortable. I highly recommend these.” — Pam W.“Perfect arch support. I had a pair of these slippers but from Vionic. They cost $60 but they were worth it. I have foot issues - one foot has problems bending at ankle and the other foot has bunion...sorry for the TMI! When I saw these, they looked exactly like the Vionic ones but at 1/2 the price so I took a chance. And I’m so glad I did! These fit me EXACTLY like the Vionic ones, look the same as Vionic, and have the exact same arch support as Vionic. About the only difference I can see is that the sole (exact look as Vionic) is not as heavy as the Vionic one.My shoe size is 10.5/11 wide but I ordered these in a size 10. With bare feet there is about 1/2″ space from both my heels to the back of the slipper. That’s OK for me because in winter I wear socks with my slippers so they will still fit great. The velcro fastening also allows for tightening the slipper - which I did - and the slippers fit like gloves.VERY HAPPY WITH PURCHASE ― I am actually going to purchase another pair right away.” — Reading Rocks Close Trending In ShoppingMore In Shopping
