I just finished binge watching Boots, a show that was not what I expected, a unique look at brotherhood in the Marines but also highlighting its flaws. The lead, Cameron Cope, based on a real soldier as chronicled in the book The Pink Marine, is gay, but that’s only one piece of the puzzle as the spotlight shines across the entire cast. It’s a great show, it’s done well, so, is Boots season 2 coming?
There are some updates on that front, and so far, things are looking pretty positive despite no official word from Amazon:
Then there’s the “Netflix” of it all, and Boots seems like it ticks all the boxes. Good critic and audience scores, solid performance on the Netflix top 10 list, a relatively cheap production with location filming, and a relatively unknown cast. Season 2 taking place in an actual war would up the costs, no doubt, but with the press Boots has gotten, and the fact that it was never pitched as a limited series in the first place, I would be optimistic about season 2 being announced at some point.
