Dax Shepard interviewed one of his longtime loves, Briegh Morrison, and the two got deep into their relationship, their breakup, and what comes after a breakup. The “Parenthood” actor had an open relationship with Morrison for nine years. After the two broke up, Morrison later married a Marvel executive, while Shepard coupled up with fellow actor Kristen Bell. Shepard got candid about the ways Bell and Morrison are similar, and examined the “wild” way the two differ. “Initially when Kristen and I started dating, you were still coming over a lot because my mom was living at my house,” Shepard said on the latest episode of his new podcast series, “Mom’s Car.” Morrison had made it clear in the interview she was sad about losing the actor’s mother in the breakup.“You were around even in like the first month or two we were dating,” Shepard explained. “[Kristen] initially was like, ‘This is really wild, like, I’m not friends with any of my exes. I don’t hang out with any.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m friends with all mine, pretty much.’” “Over time she got super comfortable with it, and absolutely at ease with it,” the podcaster shared. “But it is interesting. There’s been a couple moments where I was like, ‘Oh, is that potentially hurtful?’” Differences aside, Shepard also named what both Morrison and Bell have in common. “Something that you guys have that I value so much is I think you two ― above any other people I’ve ever met ― you have your opinions and your position, but you’re really able to listen to another point of view and consider it and integrate it,” he told his ex. “Neither of you guys are, like, stuck.” Shepard has regularly spoken about Morrison over the years, but this is the first time she’s appeared on any of his “Armchair Expert” podcasts ― leaving listeners hanging on to their every word. Any Armcherry knows that Shepard has spoken about his exes over the years, including Kate Hudson (whom he has also interviewed) and Mary Kate Olsen (who has yet to make it on the podcast). During Hudson’s appearance on Shepard’s podcast, she said their relationship “was a lot, fast” and a few different factors led to them parting ways. “You really wanted a ‘we’ in your life and that you felt that it was just about me,” the “How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days” actor said during her 2019 appearance. “Honestly, I wasn’t giving Dax what he needed and I was making choices that were not relationship-focused.” Close
