A man who had part of his leg amputated is recovering in a rehabilitation facility while documenting his experience on social media to raise awareness.

Tommy Hurrell from Deal, Kent, posted on TikTok and Instagram about the period before and after he had his left leg amputated below the knee.

The 20-year-old, who was born with spina bifida, has had more than two million views on one of his video posts.

He said: "I'm doing really well, all things considered, and I've made really good progress."

He added: "Occasionally when you look down and see that your leg is gone you realise there is a long road ahead of you."
