A 61-year-old woman who was wearing a penis costume was pinned down by three police officers in Fairhope, Alabama, during the past weekend’s “No Kings” protests against President Donald Trump.Surreal video that’s gone viral on social media shows cops holding the demonstrator on the ground as onlookers tell them to “leave her alone.” See the clip here.In a statement shared online Monday, the Fairhope Police Department said Jeana Renea Gamble had been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.Per the statement, cops were called to reports “regarding traffic hazards in the area” and “upon arrival, an officer observed an individual in a phallic costume.”“The officer approached the woman and requested that she remove the costume, which is deemed obscene in a public setting; however, she refused to comply,” it added.In a press release, protest organizer Indivisible Baldwin County said “Gamble was peacefully expressing her point of view” and said her “violent arrest for expressing herself in ways the police found rude is indefensible, morally and legally.”Close
