The concessionary rate for women will apply in conjunction with the below-market rate for branded rice, cooking oils, and a range of non-subsidised household products, including soaps, detergents, toothpaste, jaggery, shallots, onions, curry powders and spices, among other items.

Civil Supplies Minister G.R. Anil also announced that the government would henceforth sell subsidised par-boiled rice, widely preferred by Keralites. Ration cardholders could purchase up to 20 kg of subsidised par-boiled rice from Supplyco outlets monthly, instead of the usual 10 kg.

Privilege cards

The government also announced privilege cards for Supplyco customers, allowing them to earn points and redeem them for future purchases.

He said the government also planned to convert 30 Maveli stores into an expansive supermarket and start six new Civil Supplies petrol pumps in the State.
