For the late Diane Keaton, Palm Springs was a refuge.
The Academy Award-winning actress, who died Oct. 11 at age 79 from pneumonia, spent several months in California's Coachella Valley after wildfires damaged her Los Angeles home in January.
Songwriter Carole Bayer Sager recently told People that she saw Keaton two to three weeks before her death, after the actress returned home from Palm Springs, and was "stunned by how much weight she'd lost."
Sager, who co-wrote Keaton's only solo single, "First Christmas," told the outlet that she'd seen her friend less lately because Keaton was spending so much time in the desert.
