CBI arrests Punjab DIG for bribery, seized cash, assets, and luxury items during searches in Punjab and Chandigarh.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday (October 16, 2025) said they have arrested a senior Indian Police Service officer of the 2009 batch, presently posted as Punjab Deputy Inspector General of Police, on charges of bribery.
According to an official statement, he was arrested along with a private individual, in a bribery case involving ₹8 lakh. The officer was also allegedly seeking recurring monthly illegal payments from the complainant.
