President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday (October 16, 2025) said that Indian peacekeepers have not only carved a special place for themselves but also earned goodwill among the people they serve in strife-torn areas.

In the journey of peacekeeping, India has made appreciable strides in gender inclusion, Ms. Murmu said in her address at the Army Chiefs’ Conclave for United Nations Troop Contributing Countries at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

Women peacekeepers have empowered local communities and fostered trust, she added.
