The silence of the government against the rising attacks on Dalits, including rapes and ostracisation, along with atrocities against Backward Classes (BCs) and tribal communities in Andhra Pradesh has drawn severe criticism from representatives of the Kula Vivaksha Porata Sangam (KVPS) and the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) on Thursday.

Speaking at a press conference at the CITU office, KVPS district president M. Subbanna and general secretary T. Chiranjeevi alleged that since the BJP government came to power at the Centre 11 years ago, not a single public sector industry has been set up in the country. They highlighted the large scale retrenchment of permanent employees and growing privatisation of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
