Kyrgyz capital Bishkek will host the meeting of National Security Advisers (NSAs) of India and the Central Asian Republics this week where security and terrorism will be in focus. NSA Ajit Doval reached Bishkek on Wednesday to participate in the dialogue with India’s Central Asian security partners.
The overall security situation, especially the Afghanistan-Pakistan border conflict is expected to be part of the discussion which comes days after the Moscow format where four Central Asian republics participated in dialogue with India, Pakistan, Russia and the Afghan delegation led by Taliban’s Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.
Soon after his arrival in Bishkek, Mr. Doval held a meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Lt. Gen. Baktybek Bekbolotov. “Both sides discussed bilateral cooperation and agreed to enhance existing collaboration on countering terrorism, radicalisation, extremism and drug trafficking. They reviewed bilateral defence cooperation and discussed regional security issues,” said the Embassy of India in an announcement.
