Additional Director General of Police, Cyber Crime Wing, Sandeep Mittal, on Wednesday (October 15, 2025) said the Cyber Patrolling Team of the Cyber Crime Wing intervened in several live scam cases, rescuing 428 individuals from falling prey to investment scams.
The timely action prevented an estimated cyber financial loss of around ₹1,000 crores. The Wing also successfully blocked 1,277 social media pages and accounts that were promoting cyber financial frauds under various disguises, he said.
He was speaking at the inauguration of National Cyber Security Awareness Month Celebrations organised by the Cyber Crime Wing in collaboration with National Forensic Science University.
He further highlighted that in 2025, a total of 952 arrests were made in connection with cybercrime cases, while 27 cyber offenders were detained under the Goondas Act.
