California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) continued his no-holds-barred trolling of President Donald Trump, this time poking fun at a black-and-white photo of Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu grasping each other’s hands.
The White House posted the photo on Monday after Trump last week announced a peace deal between Israel and Hamas. “Peace through strength,” the photo caption read.
On the heels of the post, the governor’s press office followed up with its own parodied comparison of the snapshot — a caption-less photo of Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels from the 1994 comedy “Dumb and Dumber.”
The post, reported on by multiple outlets, appears to have been deleted.
Neither the White House nor Newsom’s press office immediately responded to HuffPost’s requests for comment.
