Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Meringue music artist Elvis Crespo will be honored with the Billboard Hall of Fame Award during the Billboard Latin Music Awards on Oct. 23.
The awards show will air live at 8 p.m. EDT on Telemundo and also stream on Peacock and the Telemundo app.
Crespo is also slated to perform alongside Tono Rosario, Ebenezer Guerra and La Insuperable.
"Receiving the Billboard Hall of Fame Award is one of the greatest honors of my career," he said in a statement. "This award is not only for me, it's for merengue, for Puerto Rico, and for every fan who has danced and celebrated life with my music."
The Puerto Rican singer is well known for songs like "Suavemente" and "Tu Sonrisa."
