The JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mauritius (JSSAHERM) has said that its MBBS programme has been accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Government of Mauritius, and the establishment of the JSS School of Medicine at Vacoas in Mauritius has been formally approved.
This was disclosed at a press conference here on Monday by Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami of Suttur Mutt, who heads the JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru. Executive Secretary C.G. Betsurmath, JSS AHER Pro-chancellor B. Suresh and others were present.
The announcement marks a major step in the international journey of JSS Mahavidyapeetha (JSSMVP), one of the largest educational trusts with over 360 institutions in India and abroad. It aims to provide globally relevant higher education beyond the shores of India, it stated.
The JSS Mahavidyapeetha has expanded its educational facilities in Dubai, Mauritius, and the United States. Established in 2006, the JSS Academy, Mauritius was the first private higher education institution in Mauritius to offer engineering programmes. Over the years, it has expanded its academic portfolio. Situated on an eight acre campus at Bonne Terre, Vacoas, the academy houses state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and residential facilities, they said.
