Far-right conspiracy theorist and prominent President Donald Trump ally Laura Loomer warned Republicans Friday she will withhold her vote and not encourage her thousands of followers to vote in the 2026 midterms in a social media meltdown over an announced Qatar-partnered airbase on U.S soil.

“If the GOP continues to Islamify our country and continues to allow funders of Islamic terrorism from Qatar to come into our country when they have a documented history of funding Islamic terror, I am not voting in 2026 and won’t be able to encourage others to vote either,” Loomer wrote on X.

Loomer’s outrage is in reaction to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s announcement Friday of plans to construct a Qatari Emiri Air Force facility at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho.

“The location will host a contingent of Qatari F-15s and pilots to enhance our combined training, increase the lethality, interoperability,” Hegseth said next to Qatar’s Minister of Defense Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani Friday. “It’s just another example of our partnership. And I hope you know, Your Excellency, that you can count on us.”

Hegseth’s announcement stirred a frenzy amongst those in Trump’s MAGA base, like Steve Bannon, who told Newsweek, “There should never be a military base of a foreign power on the sacred soil of America.”
