Delhi Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood on Saturday said that sustained administrative measures and long-term planning, rather than stopgap arrangements such as banning firecrackers and construction activities, would help reduce air pollution levels in the city.

“Restrictions on firecrackers and measures like a construction ban and odd-even [vehicle-rationing] scheme will not reduce pollution in the long run,” said Mr. Sood.
