Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) founder Thol. Thirumavalavan on Saturday distributed ₹50,000 to each of the families of 41 persons killed in Karur stampede.

Members of the bereaved families were brought to a marriage hall here to meet Mr. Thirumavalavan, who expressed his deep grief and condolences to the loss of their loved ones. He then gave away cheques to the bereaved family members. Former Minister and Karur MLA V. Senthilbalaji was present.

While lauding the State government’s handling of the issue, Mr. Thirumavalavan said that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had acted quickly to ensure that the injured persons received the best possible treatment and announced ₹10 lakh cash assistance to the family members of those killed. On its behalf, the VCK, as a token of helping those affected, had distributed ₹50,000 to each of the families of victims.
