MEA denies involvement in Afghan FM Muttaqi’s presser that excluded women journalists
The Ministry of External Affairs on Saturday (October 11, 2025) clarified that it was not involved in the press interaction held on Friday (October 10) by the visiting Afghanistan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in New Delhi. The statement comes after the presser drew heavy criticism over the exclusion of women journalists. According to PTI, it is learnt that the decision on inviting journalists to the media interaction was taken by Taliban officials accompanying the Foreign Minister.
Medical student from Odisha gang-raped in West Bengal
A medical college student from Odisha was raped allegedly by unidentified men in West Bengal’s Paschim Bardhaman district, police said on Saturday (October 11, 2025). The incident occurred outside the private medical college campus in Durgapur on Friday (October 10, 2025) night when the second-year student went out with one of her friends for dinner, her family members said. The medical student, from Jaleswar in Odisha, is undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital, a police officer said.
