Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu lauded the Nandha Gokulam Save The Bull Cause, an innovative initiative of the Chinta Sasidhar Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Vishwa Samudra Group, on the Nandha Gokulam campus at Edagali village of Venkatachalam mandal in Nellore district on Friday.
The Save The Bull Cause is to create a ‘Bull Economy’ for the farmers. The Nandi Power (a bull-powered treadmill system) is an indigenous innovation that converts bovine kinetic energy into mechanical / clean energy to run farm tools and light small precincts designed with veterinary supervision and animal-welfare safeguards.
Each Nandi Power unit features one-tonne capacity, hydraulic lift system for height adjustment, and braking mechanism, including an emergency hand brake, to ensure animal safety.
A single bull walking on the treadmill for four hours a day can generate approximately 4 KW (units) of electricity, equivalent to powering multiple rural households or farm operations.
Upgraded cattle welfare and breed-revival centre focuses on indigenous breeds, fodder development, and livelihoods support for the local farmers.
