Tod's boss Diego Della Valle said the prosecutor who asked for the luxury shoe maker to be put in judicial administration for alleged gangmastering at Chinese sweat hops in its production chain should come and see its highly respected companies.
"Ours is a group respected worldwide, we make ethical values ;;our flagship.
We are not those filthy things.
Prosecutor Paolo Storari should come and see our companies," Della Valle commented on the request for judicial administration filed by the Milan Prosecutor's Office against Tod's SpA, accusing it of facilitating gangmastering throughout its supply chain.
"This disrespect for our reputation is a disgrace," he emphasized during a press conference in which he called for respect for Made in Italy: "Questioning it lightly creates enormous damage. Legislation must be passed quickly to protect it."
