New York Attorney General Letitia James was reportedly indicted on a bank fraud charge by a federal grand jury in Virginia on Oct. 9, less than three weeks after President Donald Trump publicly called for her to face charges.
The indictment comes on the heels of charges against another Trump critic, former FBI Director James Comey. A federal grand jury in the same jurisdiction, the Eastern District of Virginia, indicted Comey on charges of lying to Congress and obstructing a congressional proceeding. Comey has declared his innocence and pleaded not guilty.
The indictment was reported by the Guardian and NBC News, which cited anonymous sources familiar with the matter.
James' office and the U.S. Justice Department didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.
This is a developing story that will be updated.
