A couple was found dead under mysterious circumstances after a fire broke out in the room of a lodge situated on the third floor of the commercial complex in Yelahanka on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Kaveri, 25, and her male friend, identified as Ramesh Bandivaddar, 25. They were natives of Hungunda.
According to the police, Kaveri was working in a spa and Ramesh worked at a private firm. The duo checked into the lodge around 3 p.m., hours before the fire broke out from inside the room of the lodge called Kitchen 6, around 5 p.m.
Kaveri called the room service informed about the fire. The staff alerted the Fire and Emergency Control Room and tried to break open the door which was locked from inside.
However, after struggling for few minutes, they broke open the door and found the girl lying unconscious in the wash room while Ramesh was charred to death .
