Oct. 9 (UPI) -- The president of Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos, Armin Dorgathen, said the state-owned company cannot guarantee full fuel supplies nationwide because the Ministry of Economy has not provided sufficient funds over the past two weeks to pay for imports.

"We estimate that this week, we will operate at about 70% to 80% capacity to supply service stations," Dorgathen said during a news conference Tuesday He said the company expects to restore normal supply by Friday.

He said the company needs about $55 million a week to buy fuel, but has received only between $40 million and $45 million in recently.

Later, the Ministry of Economy and Public Finance said in a statement that YPFB's budget in local currency is "fully guaranteed for the subsidy and import of fuel."
