Oct. 9 (UPI) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to trade Tyson Campbell to the Cleveland Browns for Greg Newsome II in a cornerback swap, a league source told UPI on Thursday.
The Jaguars also agreed to send a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Browns in exchange for Newsome and a sixth-round pick. Newsome joined the Browns as the No. 26 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Campbell, a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, appeared in 60 games through his first five seasons. The 25-year-old defensive back logged 34 combined tackles, six passes defensed, a forced fumble and a tackle for a loss through five starts this season.
Pro Football Focus gave Campbell the No. 47 defensive rating among cornerbacks who were in for at least 50% of the maximum snaps played at the position so far in 2025. He ranked 57th in coverage, but received the No. 5 tackle rating and ranked No. 3 in run defense among cornerbacks.
