Former White House attorney Ty Cobb say he’s floored by the level of corruption in President Donald Trump’s government, calling the people at the top of today’s Department of Justice more crooked than those of the Watergate era.

Cobb compared Attorney General Pam Bondi to President Richard Nixon’s disgraced Attorney General John Mitchell while talking about her combative testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee during a Tuesday appearance on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront.”

When Burnett asked Cobb about the “disgust and disregard” Bondi displayed during the hearing, the longtime Washington, D.C., lawyer said he’d “never” seen anything so shady.

“I think today she achieved one thing,” added Cobb, who was part of the White House legal team during Trump’s first term. “She knocked John Mitchell off the perch of reprehensible attorney generals as number one, despite his guilty plea and time in jail.”

Mitchell helped Nixon and cronies plan the Watergate break-in and played a key role in the scandal’s subsequent cover-up.
