Terrifying new footage of the moment an elephant flipped over a safari canoe and tried to crush a woman to death has emerged. Panicked holidaymakers were left clinging for their lives after the furious animal stormed toward them in the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Astonishingly, they filmed their own attack. Larry Unrein, who was among a party of one American couple and one British couple, had been around twenty minutes into a boat safari when he spotted the elephant on the riverbank. Moments later, it suddenly began charging at the vessel. Attempts by their tour guide to steer them away from the incensed animal proved futile. The speeding beast quickly closed in, slamming into the boat with such force that it flipped over, sending Larry and the other passenger plunging into the crocodile-infested water. As chaos erupted, the animal appeared to target one of the tourists, using its head to push the helpless passenger beneath the surface. Larry said he waded away in panic as screams echoed across the delta, with others desperately trying to scare the animal off. He recalled: 'It was life and death, and I did my best to record the encounter. We somehow survived, and the footage is insane. Experts said the tourists were lucky to have escaped as they could have all been killed by the animal. Others also commented that they could have been ravaged by crocodiles after the disturbance. Initial reports indicated that the tourists had gotten too close to the elephant and its young, leading to the shocking attack.
