Connor Wilson viciously attacked the owner of the bike and snatched it to go on a joyride around a peaceful suburb in South TynesideDuring sentencing at Newcastle Crown Court, Judge Carolyn Scott said his behaviour was 'nothing more than violent thuggery'.She said: 'This was a violent attack by you which was completely unprovoked and witnessed by members of the public. 'I've heard what you say about why you did what you did.'You say the bike had been yours and the complainant had not paid you for it. Whatever the position, you attacking someone in the manner you did and taking the bag and other belongings, is not the way matters of conflict are to be dealt with.'
