Leo's first trip as pope to be to Turkey and Lebanon - Vatican - Ansa.it

Pope Leo XIV's first Apostolic Journey will be to Turkey and Lebanon between November 30 and December 2,the Vatican said on Tuesday.

Holy See Press Office Director Matteo Bruni said the pontiff would be on Turkey from November 27 to 30.

He said the visit "include a pilgrimage to İznik on the occasion of the 1,700th anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea", fulfilling a commitment made by his predecessor Pope Francis.

He will then to go Lebanon.

Bruni said the itinerary of the visit to Lebanon "will be announced in due course".
