The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) has decided to suspend B. Murari Babu from service pending investigation for allegedly submitting a report to the Sabarimala Executive Officer on June 17, 2019, while he was the Sabarimala Administrative Officer, by incorrectly recording the gold-plated Dwarapalaka sculptures on both sides of the shrine as copper plates.
The board, which convened a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the issue, observed that this was “a serious lapse” on the official’s part. Mr. Babu is currently the Deputy Devaswom Commissioner, Haripad.
