Premier Giorgia Meloni on Tuesday released a message marking the second anniversary of the October 7 massacre of Israeli civilians by Hamas, saying it was one of the worst atrocities ever committed.
"Two years have passed since the ignominy of the massacre committed by Hamas terrorists against (more than) a thousand defenceless, innocent Israeli civilians, including women and children," the premier said in a statement.
"Unspeakable crimes that make October 7th one of the darkest pages in history.
"Today we renew our closeness to the families of the victims and once again call for the release of the hostages, who are still waiting to return home after two years of captivity, harassment, and suffering".
